I'm looking to get a Asus Chromebook R11, as it can be found on the cheap side with a quad core.
I am just wondering though, has there been any hardware changes between the 2017 make and the 2019 makes? It might sound a little stupid, but I personally I would think that maybe a new chip was installed for wifi or something. I just wanna know if the year it was manufactured matters.

    Good evening Brian4321 !

I think you must have been wrong.
Acer does not market Asus products.

You can find the technical specs for the ACER R11 CB5-132T here: https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/model/NX.G54EK.003

I think the other model of R11 you're talking about is the R11 RC738T-C44Z?
Technical specs for the second model are hard to find https://store.acer.com/en-ca/chromebook-r-11-c738t-c44z
but this version from the Canadian Acer site show an Intel® Celeron® N3150 Quad-core processor @ 1.60 GHz while the CB5-132T has a dual core N3050.

If you could clarify the model numbers of the specific chromebooks you're wanting to compare this would help identify the differences between them.

Hello. I have some helpful advice regarding the Asus Chromebook R11. I recently came across in the article on a site that provided an excellent guide for troubleshooting issues with my Asus Chromebook. The article was well-written, easy to follow, and provided a comprehensive list of steps to take if my device was not working correctly. What I appreciated most about the article was that it went beyond the basic troubleshooting steps and provided solutions to more complex issues that I would have never thought of. Thanks to this site, my Asus Chromebook is now working like a charm!
