    This model supports at most 8Gb of RAM (2 slots 2 x4Gb) SO-DIMM DDR3 1066/1333Mhz

Is this definitely correct? The memory controller is "built in at CPU" and the CPU has a max 32GB RAM according to Intel depending on memory type:

    https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/67355/intel-core-i5-3210m-processor-3m-cache-up-to-3-10-ghz-rpga.html

The memory in my laptop is:
    1x 4GB DDR3 1600 CL11
    1x 2GB DDR3 1333 CL9

Can you confirm how the 8GB is calculated or what it is restricted by? I am tempted to buy 8GB x2 from Amazon as you seem to be able to return if it does not work. Thanks Steve

It does not matter how many GB of RAM the processor can manage.
Whoever performs the final control is the chipset and motherboard controllers.
    They limit the amount.
This information has been taken directly from the service manual for the specific model.

This is absolutely correct. The crucial info for the Aspire v3 571 is wrong. I know this from personal experience - installed 2 sticks of 8gb. Windows is only use 8gb. Thank you McLane; I should have listened to you.
