Some pointers on which brand and how many sticks to buy and their specs would be nice. JC4 drops to very low frame rates every now and then. Got me wondering if upgrading the RAM would make anything better. I've read that SSDs will make everything load faster. All help appreciated. Really new to this world of the insides of the machines.

    Hi Farishahmed,
Thanks for your response. You can go for maximum 2 slots of 16GB each.
As for the SSD You can go for any brand. Personally I like the Samsung brand. But what ever you choose make sure to check the review before purchasing.

    Hi Farishahmed,
     Thanks for your response.
You have only one HDD bay and a M.2 slot, so you can install a M.2 SATA SSD or a M.2 NVMe SSD in the slot, you can install a M.2 SSD up to 512GB, transfer your OS to it and use the 1TB original HDD for additional storage.

    Examples of M.2 SSDs:

@Farishahmed <<<total 24 gigs.>>>>  thats bad really bad you cant mix rams with different clock this means you are only working with the lowest clock and single channel get another sodimm 2666 same size clock/CL to match the other you have and bin/save/sell the 2400mhz and it seems you have 1 of 16gb and 1 of 8gb its even worse my suggestion its to get either 2x 8gb dual channel either 2400 or 2666 its up to you or another 16gb to match the one you have to get 2x 16gb dual channel regarding your ssd you can upgrade up to 2tb sata (not sure about nvme but probably would be the same)

Also, do i need 2 sticks or 1?  And will having 2 sticks of 16gb be more than necessary since this is a 1060?

There are different kinds of SSDs, right? Like m.2 and nvme and all that.. My Helios 300 PH315-51-71FS came with a 1tb m.2 i think.. can i change that to an nvme for 512gb just for OS and gaming? And storage 2 for other purposes like storing stuff..
    Thank you in advance

Use cpuz to check the ram you have (2400/2666) and match both slots with 2 sodimms same clock/CL for dual channel it all depends on your budget if you want oem ram its cheaper if you want proper ram like hyperx etc you have to pay $$$/£££ for it but its well worth it
