I have my in warranty G3-710 in for repair now but ended up paying for shipping. The case booking page only had a Authorization number that I was supposed to give to the FedEx Rep. No label was in the email and the case booking made no mention of it either. The Rep wouldn't accept it so I paid the shipping. I assumed I could get reimbursed later. After chatting with support I was told rather rudely there was nothing they could do since I decided to ship it and not call back. When I asked to talk to a supervisor I was asked to call the 866 number and was stuck on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up. Attached is case booking info I have, The email is identical. How did this happen? How do I get reimbursed? Please, can anyone help? I love my g3 but this is disheartening.

Why? The standard manufacturer's warranty does not cover inbound shipping. Support can sometimes make exceptions if you provide a serial #/Case ID and notify them ahead of time. Since it's shipped and paid, there is nothing Acer can do. Reimbursement is not within the terms of the warranty.

Why then did they instruct me to present a code to the FedEx rep that they couldn't use?. And it's not really about the cost. My instructions talk about this number but Support was telling me it would've been covered if I used the emailed label that I never got. I can post the transcript. I likely did something wrong. I'm just frustrated in the process.

One thing you could have done is not FedEx when the FedEx guy didn't accept code and get back to customer care to check for available options. Refunding is pretty ruled out since shipping and such is out of courtesy (also keep in mind the fact that what you pay would be way different than what Acer pays to FedEx for the very same package).
Don't be frustrated, its all done n over now. Just wait for your laptop to come back and happy gaming :-)
