Open Control Panel. Click Uninstall a program. Look for McAfee, Norton, AVG or any other non-Microsoft antivirus software that might be installed on the system. Jack E/NJ

    (1) Uninstall, don't just disable, any non-Microsoft anitvirus or antimalware programs. Defender is all you need (2) Disable Fast Boot in Control Panel power button menu (3) You've got too many programs running in the background on startup with only 2.6GB of 8GB available. Use Task Manager to pare it down. (4) If you've got an HDD the biggest bang for the buck will be an SSD. Jack E/NJ

You could add more RAM. I have just bought the same computer and wondered if it has any spare slots?
