not even 1 month of usage this laptop started to appear 100% disk usage making it super slow I tried most of the "solutions" it started working like this after it "recommended" to install intel rapid storage technology I also tried uninstalling it but it doesn't work
Specs:
- Intel Core i5-8300H (2.30 - 4.00 GHz)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti (4GB GDDR5)
- 4 GB DDR4
- 1 TB 5400 RPM
- 15.6 inch (1920x1080) Full HD IPS
- Windows 10 Home (64 Bit)

also after uninstalling the IRST on processes it appears 50% disk usage but on perfomance its at 100% usage also its still sluggish

When you install windows on the M.2 make sure you remove the sata drive. After installing the windows, update the drivers I had to update nvida driver after a few reboots. Let everything install, then connect the drive. And see if you can pull your files. Once you do connect it give it about 15 to 20 minutes to let windows read all the data on it.
That wont be possible, as i said before the m.2 ssd is not mine so i had to return it, it was just to test another recommended solution, btw i have an 16gb intel optane memory in my m.2 slot, pc boots almost instantly then the 100% disk usage begins...
Understood. I increased my ram and the m.2 size. So far my boot up time is pretty fast and multitasking is very responsive even playing a heavy game like battlefield V or anthem. I hope you find what eating at the cpu cycle

    Good afternoon davisson1123 !

    Watch the video below.
It offers most of the potable solutions to this problem.
Even if you are in Portuguese, you only have to activate the subtitles.
    It is quite learned:

Install OS to SSD instead of original HDD , upgrade RAM at least to 8 GB . There is no other ways to get smooth , because this is window 10 , 4 GB Ram is not enough .

    Completely misplaced placements.

SSD does not resolve disk error with 100% usage.
That error is software and not hardware.
The problem occurs in both HDD and SSD.
It is already known by the technological community and presents itself from version 8 of Windows.
It occurs by several factors or set of factors.
From poorly developed patches, driver incompatibility, softwares with high requests for continuous services, among others.

RAM also in absolutely nothing has to do with error.

    I'm not saying that.
I'm saying that the problem of 100% disk usage has nothing to do with Nitro 5.
It is an exclusively Windows problem that has occurred since version 8 and can affect any machine of any company.
Even servers with more than 128Tb of RAM.

Even if some upgrade "apparently" solves the problem, it is only masking the error it will present at some point if it is not corrected with the options I have provided.

another thing, i recently wiped my pc and updated to windows 10 pro, while on default without any drivers the pc was working quite well i even installed the gtx 1050 driver and ran a game smoothly. but then i started to install the drivers everything normal until i installed the intel drivers then the 100% disk usage appeared again.

    As I told you earlier.
The error is unique to Windows 8, 8.1, and 10, and is caused by several factors or sets of them.
Have you followed the tips provided in the video?

btw added more ram, i tried everything from the videos and the only functioning solution is to switch to ssd (wich i cant afford and a 128gb ssd is not enough for my work) tested 3 different hdds all of them have 100% disk usage, tested them on another laptop they worked normally. both of them booted with my windows 10 pro key. but now its just worst i cant even extract a .rar file because the pc becomes unusable.
i clean wiped yesterday and upgraded to a 1TB 7200rpm 8gb ram still its there

What is the release version of your Windows?
    1803 or 1809?
Have you performed a clean installation of the system?

Hey Davisson1123, I was having the same issue. Just recently I just installed M.2 SSD, and moved my sata as just storage. from what I'm monitoring my Disk usage ticks up but not that much surprisingly. I installed windows on the M.2 also. Its only been about 3 days I'll check back in a few with an update!.

not even 1 month of usage this laptop started to appear 100% disk usage making it super slow I tried most of the "solutions" it started working like this after it "recommended" to install intel rapid storage technology I also tried uninstalling it but it doesn't work
    Specs:
    - Intel Core i5-8300H (2.30 - 4.00 GHz)
    - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti (4GB GDDR5)
    - 4 GB DDR4
    - 1 TB 5400 RPM
    - 15.6 inch (1920x1080) Full HD IPS
    - Windows 10 Home (64 Bit)

also after uninstalling the IRST on processes it appears 50% disk usage but on perfomance its at 100% usage also its still sluggish

    Hi there,

    Try the following.

    1. Update your OS up to the latest version
    2. Update your browser, if you are using 64 bit OS, use 64 bit browser
    3. Go to Device Manager and update all drivers

I tried all these and I no longer see 100% disk usage. I hope it also works for you.

    Thanks!
