Possible to use another PSU greater than 180W (Predator G3-572).

As title.
I think it would be very interesting as the overclocking headroom can be expanded a little bit more.

G3-572 uses one of either 135 or 180.

yes. as long as the voltage does not deviate from the rated 19v ( +/- 5%) on load.

No point in using a more powerful adapter the board doesn't support it anyway its capped to 180w so why waste money this is the reason there are only 2 versions of adapters available and i wouldn't even try more than 180W the mobo may even get a power surge and fry but that's up to who wants to try it to decide i wouldn't take the risk

no brother, mb is never capped.
although very strong current passing through the power circuits can degrade them in the long run.
The smps power supply ( adapter in this case) will  supply just as much needed by the motherboard and other peripherials.
even if you use a very high rated power supply like 300w it will not damage the motherboard, because it will not be supplying full 300w all the time. it will depend upon the load of the system.
for e.g. if using system lightly , it will not need more than say for e.g. 60-70w , so the adapter will supply only 70w power at that time. only thing is the adapter will run cooler as it is not under great load.

it ( power draw from the supply) depends upon the load put by the system. and it is very dynamic in nature.

The user can use a 230w adapter if he so desires. it will not harm the system.
but i dont understand the reason for it unless he is highly overclocking the system.

Technically you can but you shouldn't and regarding overclocking he can't overclock too much cpu is locked memory is locked the oly overclock it's the gpu and not too much so i don't really see the need for a higher power adapter my 135w its more than enough for mine and i have undervolted/optimized and overclocked the gpu +200 core clock +250 memory clock and its stable running at max 65-69 all games on ultra and cpu 70-75 and as i am always on AC my battery never discharged even once i never noticed and when i play it's always 10h+ non stop so again i don't see the need of having a higher wattage power adapter

thats what i said. he can use a higher wattage psu, but for what purpose.?
except for running the adapter a bit cooler on peak loads.
the golden rule being , total of all peak loads of the system components x 1.5 times. ( i prefer 2x times).

Yeah my NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB is constantly hitting the PWR limit in games.
I noticed that it only happens when I reached a certain degree of temps- around 80*C.
The clock speed drop isn't too terrible, but it happens every 3 seconds or so.

I have a G3-572 and have a 180W adapter. Rarely does my battery drop below 95% even after playing full throttle for multiple hours. You can heavily optimize this beast without compromising on performance.

As the temperature rises more power is required to reach the same frequency. The power limit adjustment is locked from vBIOS, so as the other users mentioned a more powerful charger won't help, except that the charger with higher wattage rating will run cooler at higher loads.

If you want to increase the power limit you should look online for a vBIOS mod of the GPU, which unlocks power and voltage limits. After you do that, then you can look for a higher wattage adapter(of course the voltage of the other adapter should be the same as the original charger).

Anyway, I don't think that is worth it, because there is no point to void warranty by unlocking the vBIOS and then spending money for a charger just for some 5-10% improvement in performance. Additionally, as you mentioned the GPU temperature reaches 80C, which is high considering that you want to raise the power limit. With more power output the GPU will heat up more and probably throttle down, which won't give you any perfomance.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.
