New-ish Desktop XC-230 gone slow

Hi all. I have an XC-230 purchased about 5 months ago. For most of that time it's fine then a couple of weeks ago it started getting really slow to perform tasks, mainly I just use it to browse online but also opening up menus and folders seemed to get slower. web stuff that popped up instantly before now takes a few seconds and even after it's loaded I can hear the processor chugging away really loadly in the background for a while and same opening a menu/folder or minor app (and yes I tried a different browser).

I checked windows and all the components was up to date. I checked in the settings for any reported hardware issue. I also ran a couple of manual virus scans (Windows Defender and BitDefender). Finally I reinstalled windows. No joy. Is there anything else that might be the issue or I can try or did I just buy a dodgy machine?

    Suggestions:
    1) Delete BitDefender.  Running 2 anti-virus programs will cause your desktop to crawl.
    2) Run Disk Cleanup & Disk Defragmenter on a regular basis.
    3) Create a system image with Macrium Reflect, then delete bloatware, one application at a time. If an essential program is accidentally deleted, restore with the system image.
    4) Remove non-Microsoft applications from loading at Startup as shown in the video below.

    Thanks for the input.

re 1: I only added Bitdefender to try and clear the issues and after the scan removed it.
re 2: I ran cleanup, cleared cache and temp files etc.

I will consider 3. The pc came with a load of acer stuff pre-installed. the challenge is working out the essentials vs the chaf. :/

Re 4: my pc loads pretty fast. I have literally about 3 things in startup, one is firefox, win defender notification icon, also something called uwplauncher (acer I think).

One way to separate the wheat from the chaff is to google the program in question to get a better idea what it does.
An way is to check the path of the application. If it's in one of these Windows folders, it's time to beat a hasty retreat.
Having a system image beforehand will pull the chestnuts out of the fire.
