I have recently bought the 8th gen helios 300(PH315-51). I am getting random fps drops in games.
I get around 120 fps in fortnite and after 5 mins of playing it drops to around 10-20 fps for like 5-10 secs and then goes back up to 120. This keeps on repeating.
I have tried turning of the Geforce Experience screen overlay, and i have also updated the Bios, Nvidia drivers. My temps while playing : 70-90 CPU and 60-80 GPU

Fortnite is not the best game to play due to bad development but you can follow @Red-Sand tutorials on TS and windows optimization and even maybe if you dont have any seals to void warranty you can also repaste it yourself with good thermal paste i got awesome results on mine after repasting with kryonaut :) on idle i have a minimum 37cpu-31gpu max 52-cpu-41gpu gaming on max will only go to 70s max

Your laptop is probably throttling due to power and heat, I had the same issue when I bought mine, my suggestion would be to undervolt to -.140 via either throttlestop or intel xtu, optimize windows the eliminate unnecessary CPU usage, and if your feeling extra brave re-paste with kryonaut (THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY) I also purchased a cooling pad that I use regularly, not sure how much it helps but it does elevate and push air into the device so it cant be bad right?
One of the members here has made videos for each of the things listed here i did both optimization and Undervolt, my temps now average high 70s under load even after hours of gaming

@Hazmat02 you are wrong re-pasting will only void you warranty if you have to break any seals to disassemble it (this is only in some countries and the seals are applied by the acer store reseller not by acer themselves at least all of those i saw so far) in here they do not put any seals in any of thescrew holes so you can disassemble it repaste it upgrade ssd or whatever and not void the warranty
