As i plug in my Predator PH315-51, CPU usage shoots up to 100% from 30-40% while playing any game

    Its because when your on battery your Nvidia GPU has a feature called "Powermizer" that limits voltages sent to your GPU and lessens clock speeds.

    Since your GPU is now running less than full speed your CPU does not need to run at max to keep up.

    Also the windows power plans usually tell the CPU to use less power when on battery as well.

    It is normal.

    Thanks for your reply, i have one more query....is it normal for cpu to run at turbo frequency while gaming even if cpu loads are 30-50%?
