Laptop model is Aspire VN7-593G
It just turns off when unplugged although occasionally manages to stay on for a minute or two when unplugged.
Laptop says it's charging or full when plugged in before the unplugs.

You can try resetting the battery. Disconnect from AC adapter, turn off the laptop and follow the instructions.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

probably the battery has lost all it's charging capacity.
how old is the battery? If it is 4-5yrs old, highly likely that's the reason
    Hope that helped you.

VN7-593 is a fairly new model, so the battery is maximum 1 year old.

    Same issue here.

First of all, Hi Folks :-)

I tried everything which was suggested in the forum and from the support e-mail to solve the problem, unplug electricity, reset battery in combination of pressing the On-Button and Reset-Button simultaneously, flashed the Bios, reset Bios defaults, updated Windows 10 Pro, updated all drivers and so on... Sadly nothing changed.

My opinion either there is something wrong with the Bios (I tried 1.10 and 1.13) or the battery itself.

Now I am sending the laptop back and i hope to find an alternative product.

    Kind regards, destru.

I had the problem with BIOS vers. 1.10, but updating to 1.13 fixed the issue for me
