Hi, I have swapped the h340 motherboard for an ASUS p8h61-i r2.0 following the instructions posted on this link which is unfortunately no longer available:

Just wondering if someone here has the content of this post in pdf format to share. The new motherboard is great, it fits the h340 perfectly. The only issue is the connection to the backplane and the front buttons which I remmenber being described in this post.

Thanks in advance.

Hey! I've done this before and the link you post is actually a guide coming from this original german post.

You should be able to use a new mobo and get power to switch and 4 sata bays. Need to follow same concept for power led and hd led. Just need to do a little soldering.

    Good luck!

hi i have the acer 340 i know this article is 7 yrs old

i have 3 of these i wanna upgrade

so  Pin 1 and 8  purple and orange is Power switch  on the 16 pin out... what are the other wires to the corisponding leds

im guessing the connector with dual wires coming from it is for hte usb on front?

as for t the 10 pin connector  i only have to twist the postive 5 volts from a usb port to purple and green
nothing else so dont need the ground as it comes from the power supply is that correct
what do the other wires do that goto the backplane then??

Hi everyone, hope everyone is well. I wanted to know the people that have done the ASUS p8h61-i r2.0 swap, did you manage to get all the lights and power button working? what did you have to do to get them all connected up?

If I were doing that type of mod today, I'd  choose a Mini ITX Form Factor MB that's a whole bunch newer. That ASUS supports 2nd gen Intel processors and current is 10th gen.
