It is normal for the left side(in the region where the wasd keys are) to get hot as this is where the hot components are. Undervolting the CPU will reduce the amount of it generates, but again it will still be hot, but a little bit cooler.

    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Does it drain fast during gaming or during normal use? Either way for how long the battery is able to feed the laptop?

Right click on battery and from power options set the power plan to balanced. Also from nvidia control panel from 3d settings, set power management to balanced. Having the screen on maximum brightness also reduces battery life significantly.

By heating issues, do you mean the laptop's surface gets hot, or the CPU and GPU get too hot?

I am playing GTA V on Helios 300, without charging, and game is not running smoothly, getting stucked. Battery also draining real fast?
  • @Venky Performance while on battery is limited to provide longer battery like and to prevent damage to the battery. Gaming on the battery will only last about 30 minutes.

So basically, if you are going to game, it needs to be on the charger.
