Looking for help here:

I have a (new to me) Acer R7 372T that I recently just installed Windows 10 Pro on. When trying to install (activate) Bitlocker on the machine I receive the following error:

BitLocker could not be enabled. The BitLocker encryption key cannot be obtained from the Trusted Platform Module (TPM). C: was not encrypted.

I entered into the BIOS and setup a supervisor password, I cleared the TPM and rebooted. I can see that the TPM is working by going to tpm.msc in Windows. There the status reads Status: The TPM is ready for use, with reduced functionality. Information Flags 0x80000 The TCG event log is empty or cannot be used.

Prepare the TPM is grayed out.

Any thoughts on how to enable BitLocker on the R7 372T?

Your TPM may not be TCG Compliant. However, you can implement BitLocker without TPM provided your BIOS can read a USB Card from the preboot process. You will need to enable the proper policies to handle that setup. Just search Microsoft for instructions for setting up BitLocker on your particular OS.

To check the status of your TPM, use the TPM management console:

    Window Key + R

    tpm.msc

    Enter

And it will show you information about your TPM situation.
