Replacing keyboard on Acer Aspire ES1-512

I have recently bought an Acer Aspire ES1-512 with a UK keyboard. I want to replace it with a US keyboard.

Do I need to replace the full upper case part, like in this discussion i.e. with this component? Or can I get away with just replacing the keyboard with this?

    Hello,

Do I need to replace the full upper case part?

Yes I confirm. If you look the back side, you would understand (metal plate/upper case).

Here is the part number of the US-INT keyboard:

Thanks for clarifying. Do you know of any UK- or EU-based retailers that sell this part?

  • Hello,

I found few european retailers but unfortunately they don't ship in UK. I would try from your Acer store by using this customer service form or may be from this NL supplier by email.

    In the form:

1- You select in "Please Select a Subject: Other"

2- In "Describe the Problem:", you indicate the S/N of the computer.

    3- Example:

"Price request for the following spare parts:

         - P/N, description

         - Etc"

You'll receive a quote by mail (pdf document). You can also phone them.
