According the system requirements for Windows 10 my laptop Extensa 5630z is not suitable.

The processor, Intel T3200, is not supported.
Will an upgrade of the prcessor to T3400 help in order to run Windows 10?

thanks for your help.

My Extensa5630 meets the requirements as mentioned in your reply.

I tried to install windows10 via the Microsoft MediaCreationTool.

During the install I got the message that the processor does not support NX.

Thatswhy I intended to upgrade the processor.

Does a workaround exist for this problem?

thanks Philetus, the link provides excellent info: it shows that cpu NX support is necessary for Win 10.

The processor T3200 in the Extensa 5630 does not support this.

According the specs the processor can be upgraded to T3400

I could not find out if the processor T3400 supports NX

    Can you help me?

    It does not support NX.

The Core 2 Duo T5750 does and it is the same socket, voltage, and double the L2 cache.

    Compare at: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/Core_2_Duo_Mobile/T5750.html

    Here is a Extenza 5630g running a T5800

and a search showed they both have the same motherboard.

If you're running Windows 7, make sure you have the Windows 7 driver:

Thank you for your excellent support.

I will come back as soon as the replacement processor T5750 has arrived.

Will Microsoft still consider the current Windows 7 installation on the laptop as legal when I upgrade the processor?

You shouldn't have any problem with Windows 7.

Do you have thermal paste for the new processor?

The Extensa 5630 with Windows 7 runs smoothly with the new cpu Core 2 Duo T5750.
The latest version of the bios was already installed (V1.36)
I tried to install Win 10 now but with no succes.
I replaced the bios with the suggested version V1.34.
but the install of Win 10 is also negative.

Probably NX must be enabled in the bios but I cannot find it in the bios items.

Can you help me how to proceed?

In bios/ security tab, enable the XD flag.

In bios / Security I can only set passwords.

    No other options are available.

I see Acer doesn't support Win 7 on this laptop and you probably need a bios upgrade. Not that a bios upgrade would help if Acer chose not to allow NX to be enabled.

You can try this and see if it works:

I guess you will have to try to install Windows 8 without NZ.

I have Windows 10 installed on my Acer Extensa 5630z without having to upgrade any hardware.

It's been in my laptop for about 2 years and I don't accurately recall how I did it, as I do recall some issues that came up.

    Hallo,
Tanks for the Information! The T9300 works on my "Extensa 5630z" as well. (German or European model i guess it is)
The cooling is sufficient, too, at least when there is enough chassis clearance.

    Greets,
