So today I bought this laptop

When I try to play online game like league of legends or Cs:go I get realy high ping like 300-500 and I cant play it...

I am on wifi but I have full wifi signal and good speeds...

my results from speed test : http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4484791080

so wifi is working good for browsing internet and watching videos on youtube etc. but when I want to play online games I have unplayable ping....

My network adapter is qualcomm atheros QCA61x4

I have another 3 years old laptop and I can play games with 30 or lower ping on same wifi.

looking at the screen posted, the ping is good 825), so i think the problem can be related more to something out of sync when playing.

have you checked if you have good FPS when playing?

i mean at least 60 FPS, if you have higher FPS, try to activate V-Sync on LoL video settings and try again.

my fps is around 130 when uncapped , with v-sync its stable 60 ,as I said my ping on speed test is good , downloading speed is good too, but in league of legends or cs:go I get around 300-500 ping sometimes even higher

    try this:

Control Panel - Network and sharing center - Change adapter settings - Right click the connection you are using - Properties - Internet Protocol version 4 - Use the following DNS server addresses:

    Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8
    Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4

    reboot an try again

ok, can you please check some settings on Power options?

    windows key logo + x

    choose Power options

click on change plane settings on the setting used, click on change advanced power settings, check on the AC adapter (plugged settings):

Wireless adapter settings, set to maximum performance

processor power managent - maximum processor state - 100%

click on Apply, OK and save all your changes.

    reboot and try again

    I already tried it.

I also wrote to acer support and they said that I should send it to repair service...

if you are under warranty and don't need your laptop on daily use.....it's the right choice.

I have the same exact problem as my acer aspire v15 nitro.. i was playin normally on league for the first 1 and a half months after purchase.. then recently.. out of the blue the ping is very unstable and have extremely high pings out of nowhere of about 1k+. My brother's comp also works fine with the wifi and the ping for him is stable..

For **bleep** Sake, I have the exact same problem and this needs to be fixed ASAP or I am getting a full refund.

I can run any kind of speed test and it will give me a ping around 10-30. I have changed cities, I have changed internet providers and nothing seems to help. My problem is the exact same:

Watching a stream in full HD? No problem

    Playing Guild Wars 2? 1500 - 4570 ping

    Browsing the web? No problem

Playing League Of Legends? 450 - 11.500 ping

My ping skyrockets to 1000 - 10.000 when I start a game, but otherwise it is perfectly normal. I have had this problem the last month or so, and I have tried EVERYTHING. It is 100% the laptop. No doubt about it.

A small update for my Acer Aspire VN7-791G-576X with the same problem:

I upgraded to Windows 10 and my entire system went haywire. It froze literally every 10 seconds so I had to format and reinstall (Which sucks on a Acer laptop because of the 79 apps it comes with) back to Windows 8.0 and Windows 8.1.

Unfortunatly my ping still went crazy during games. It is most definitly the Acer Hardware that is causing the trouble and I recently found something interesting and very weird! I hope an Acer employee can respond to this.

My ping is stable when I tilt my laptop backwards! As soon as I keep the laptop level or tilt it towards me, it freaks out and the ping skyrockets to 2500. I have been playing with this for a time and it is just amazing and weird. I managed to play a full game by having the laptop on my knees and tilting it backwards. It only went to 150 ms once or twice and stayed stable on 17 ms.

Anyone got a clue what can cause this?

They changed my wifi card to intel one, and also told me to download patch from their website. Ping is now better than it was. Game starts at around 30 ping , but I still have spikes to 80 or even 200+.So now I can play games, but its still not good for that expensive laptop.... my cheaper 3 and half year old lenovo have better wifi than this.

Yes I have been doing multiple tests with some help of a Tech Forum and the conclusion is that the wifi card needs to be replaced or fixed if possible. I have spent quite some time on this, and it is the only logical solution left. It's 100% the hardware.

Very annoying for such an expensive laptop. I could buy an Expensive Wifi dongle to replace it, or send it to Acer for a Repair, but I will have to lose my laptop for a few weeks (If I'm lucky, unlucky and it turns to months), which I can't afford at the moment. I might have to fix it myself and lose warranty.

Still thinking of a better solution for this.

So today I finally had time to play games with new wifi card.

I am now sure about one thing, I will never buy anything from acer again.

i bought a acer aspire vn7-571g recently and wifi sucked from the start

    this has worked for me

    - updated driver manually (download from acer online driver downloads)

    - after the driver update i could finally suggest wireles b/n/g/ac in the list instead of only b/n/g

    - changed all the power saving settings concerning wifi card

    - uninstalled avast antivirus

watch this movie if you dont know how to adjust the power saving settings

Hello everyone, i have Aspire 7 A717-71G, and this should be piece of cake for this game at my pc, but my ping was so high all time, and i tried everything but nothing was working, at the end i discovered that my wifi drivers are not compatible with the windows. When i install the latest win 10, automatically were installed wifi driviers but when i check the drivers, there were for intel network adapter, and when you go to My pc > properties > Device manager > Network adapters, i saw that my pc using Atheros network adapter, then i download Atheros drivers for Win 10 for my model of pc, and Everything was working like a charm. I cannot say this was ultimate solution, but at least it worked for me. Hope it will work for you too.
