HELLO: NEEDED TO INSTALL A NEW HARD DRIVE ON MY ASPIRE M3470G. HAVE THE CD'S FROM ACER BUT MY DELIMA IS: HAVE INSTALLED THE SEQUECE FOR THE REINSTALLATION, FOLLOWED THE PRINTED MATTER THAT CAME WITH THE CD'S. PROBLEM IS I CANNOT GET THEM TO OPEN UP ON THE MONITOR. IT KEEPS ASKING FOR DRIVERS. I THOUGHT THE CD'S WERE COMPLETE WITH WINDOWS 7,DRIVERS AND THOSE STUPID GAMES.  I HAVE WASTED A BETTER PART OF A DAY TRYING TO NO SUCCESS. CONTACTED ACER  AND THE WOMAN TOLD ME FOR $169.00 THEY CAN INSTALL THE PROGRAMS.

SO WHAT I AM ASKING FOR IS WHAT IS THE PROPER WAY TO INSTALL THESE CD'S, SO I CAN HAVE A VIABLE COMPUTER. OR CAN I JUST INSTALL A WINDOWS 7 INSTALLATION CD, ELEMINATING THE GAMES ETC?

THIS IS MY FIRST ACER, BUT NEVER HAVE HAD PROBLEMS LIKE THIS IN 15 YEARS OF WONING DESK TOPS OR LAPTOPS

THANK YOU,

DON

    DTAUER,

As long as the hard drive you installed had no partitiions created on it there shouldn't be a problem using the recovery media process. Is this the recovery media you created with the unit yourself, or purchased media from Acer?
