Hello,

My Acer Aspire V3 laptop (with Windows 8) stopped working and I tried to reset it but it fails after around 50% operation. I tried both reset and refresh options both not working. I dont have a recovery disc. I created one in another laptop(Toshiba)running Windows 8. Now I want to boot from the recovery media but it is not doing it. I tried to press F2 key on the start to get the bios screen but it is not showing and showing the Automatic repair screen with Avanced options. Can anyone help?

Try ALT+F10 at boot to start Acer erecovery.

Please check on BIOS if you have D2D enabled.

I had tried that too. but there was no response and the screen went to the regular repairing and diagnosing screens and then to the advanced options page.

I had seen in another forum to flash the BIOS and there were files available. I had downloaded the files and copied to a usb flsah memory and then from the command prompt tried to run the Launch.bat file. It showed that it is going to update the Bios but that too failed with an error message as below:

    Failed to detect Phoenix BIOS

Error 255 - TDK library initialization failed!

    Any help???

    Thanks in advance.
