Is there an Acer Aspire 5100 orbicam free upgrade available for Vista Home  32 bit?

Drivers for our systems are available on our regional Driver Download pages.

This link          http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers   for the Acer Aspire 5100 series opens to say that your Winzip trial has expired. There are two orbicam drivers which both open for Winzip, not drivers for orbicam.

WinZIP is an application that you have installed on your system, not associated with the ZIP files on our Drivers page.

Uninstall WinZIP and Microsoft Windows will open the ZIP files natively.

The Camera drivers are for the camera in the system.  One of them should install ... did you attempt to install them?

I did un-install WinZip; thanks for the tip. Acer does have two drivers available for download.  The HW Vendor Detection also defined which of the two drivers the Acer Aspire 5100 series requires. The Bison driver is the necessary driver according to the HW Vendor Detection application for this OS, Vista 32. However, after attempting the installation process multiple times the camera still does not operate correctly. The LiveCa07 application opens the window with a command bar; even the operating light is lit on the camera itself, still the camera does not operate.

I also attempted installation of the other driver, with no success. Have you any suggestions?

The Hardware Detection application is a great way to identify which drivers you need specifically for your system.

In the case of the webcam, we have shipped two different cameras for the system.  Your system contains the Bison camera.

It sounds like the driver installed correctly, the camera is getting power (as indicated by the light), but you are not getting a picture from the camera.  This indicates that there is likely a hardware problem with the camera itself.

I can only suggest that you contact your local service center for assistance.

The Acer Aspire 5100 camera does rotate vertically on top of the screen. Maybe that is where the connection is lost.

    I will investigate this idea a bit.Thanks.
