I have just found out my brand new ACER SWIFT 16 go , the camera cannot read QR codes, Neither directely or with an App, The camera is set up corretely, nothing about setup for QR code reader so one assumes it is intergrated.

Clearly this is NOT the case as the camera does not have a high enough resolution(grainy picture) to read a QR code. NO valid help was given from ACER UK, and ACER ZURICH who were downright rude and tried to pass the book about an exchange.

I would appreciate knowing if there is a special setup for the camera and QR code reading or whether I have a valid reason to return the laptop as having a deficient camera. Note nothing in the specs says anything about the camera's bar code or QR code reading function.

    Hi, Acer’s official specs don’t advertise QR or barcode reading capabilities for this model laptop, the return/refund policy period for Acer devices ends after 2 weeks from the delivery date, after 1 week in some SE Asia countries, so that date has passed. If QR scanning is important for your workflow, you might consider:
    Using your smartphone instead — most phone cameras are optimized for QR detection.
    Trying an external USB webcam with higher resolution and better autofocus.
    Testing under better lighting and ensuring the QR code is large and sharp on screen.

    Which SFG16 model do you have? They often have different cameras for different SKUs within a model line, or for different annual releases. Reading QR codes isn't a function of the camera, it's a function of the software that is looking at the camera image. IIRC the lowest resolution camera Acer is using these days is 720P, and that is plenty good enough to read a QR code.
