Hello! I have an Acer Aspire 8735g and its missing the fingerprint drivers, I tried searching from everywhere. I remember they had multiple drivers for this laptop but now there was just 1. Also the media toch thing where you can control the volume kinda doesnt work, the other buttons work but when i try adjusting the volume it just adjusts randomly. I would love to have a restore disk for this one, but I lost mine and the recovery partition is gone. Maybe anyone can upload theirs, so I could burn it to an CD, I dont think Acer has any cause the laptop is almost 14 years old.

Download and install iobit's Driver Booster freeware to see if it can detect the hardware and find the proper drivers on line.

Hey @JackE So, I found out that the Windows Update had a fingerprint driver for it, BUTT when I installed it and tried to add a finger it directs me to a screenshot that has two links of you know what…

What do you mean? Microsoft no longer releases Win7 updates. It's probably just re-directing you to 3rd-party driver tools like the recommended DriverBooster at iobit.com. There are other driver tool freeware but iobit's is one of the best. Just go to this link and download it directly from the iobit source https://www.iobit.com/en/index.php?s

It had some drivers, but this should be the official one. Anyways I will go try that 3rd party driver updater. The Windows Update fingerprint driver looks like some malware. Cause it shouldn't direct you to a screenshot of 2 porno websites

Edit: So the driver updater downloads the same [content removed] and my volume control thing still doesn't work properly.

What website are you using? What do you mean by official? iobit.com DriverBooster is not a malware distributor. Please post the website that you're trying to use.

    Okay let's recap.

    1. I got a fingerprint driver (what should be the official one) from Windows Update, when I try to add a fingerprint or configure it, it leads me to a screenshot in Google Chrome which has 2 websites of you know what.
    2. I uninstalled the driver, and downloaded the driver booster from iobit.com that gives me the same driver which again leads me to that screenshot.

I don't know what to do, currently I am searching for an Acer recovery disc for the Acer Aspire 8735g, but no luck has yet appeared.

I got the driver from Windows Update, the application that comes with Windows. When I got the driver, I went to change fingerprint settings, it opens a tinyurl link and directs me to a screenshot with 2 links.

If you're trying to update Win7, Microsoft no longer supports Win7 or its updates. That app is no longer leading you to an official Microsoft repository.

It never was. That driver was from Acer. The Driver Booster donloads the exact same driver. BTW You can still update Windows 7 to the latest version if you haven't.
