Heyy, I've had a lot of trouble with microphones.

right now ive gotten a Nitro N50-620

Modelname: N50-620 | : DG.E2DEQ.007

Ive gotten a hyperx 1 generation headset with inbuilt microphone, if I connect without the splitter it doesn't detect any microphone, if I connect it in the back with a splitter, it detects a microphone, but it cant catch any sound from it.

I've tried many others, even my sisters new hyperx headset, the microphone works fine for her, but with me the micropgone just wont work.

There's always audio, like sound, but the microphone never works, its the 3.5 mm and then there's the splitter.

nothing works, even tried rebooting my computer.

Please help:(

Your computer has a combo audio jack in the front, which means that you don't need to use any 3.5mm splitter.

When you plug in your headset, the computer should prompt you "which device did you plug in?" If not prompted, then go to Realtek Audio Console and select headset. That's it. Unless you accidentally split the the front and back mic in the realtek audio console (if available).

Lightly tap the headset mic, the mic signal meter should jump.

Are you trying to connect it for the first time on this computer.  Was it working earlier on this computer.  If not then you might have to purchase a adapter.  Some old models of headset come with two wires one for microphone and the other for listening to music but there will be only one port on the laptop.  Some laptop will be having two ports one for microphone and the other for listening to music but the headset will be having only one wire.  In both the cases you might have to purchase a adapter or splitter adapter.   The splitter adapter which you are using might not be a compatible one.

New models are equipped with only one port but again it depends on the headset you are trying to use.  We need to first check whether the headset is coming with one wire or two wires ( microphone and for listening to music )

Try the same headset with a different computer and check..   Try a different headphone with microphone on this computer and check to isolate the issue.

Try to use a bluetooth , usb wired headset and check.

Please go through on the details given below for better understanding..

I've tried that as well, it doesn't register any mic when I plug it in, only the headset.

and there's no sound coming from the mic.

I actually stopped using my pc 7 months ago, cause I couldn't get anything to work.

So I've tried everything, I bought this pc last year in january, so its kinda new.

Nothing works, it doesnt detect the mic, when I connect it in the port without the splitter, but with the splitter in the back, it still doesn't work.

I am really sorry for the inconvenience. First of all we need to check whether it is a hardware or software issue.

If it is still not working then we have to do a refresh and reset

click on start - settings - update and security - recovery - reset this pc - get started

    or

on start - type here to search - type reset this pc - click on reset this pc on the top - click on get started

It will show you keep my files and remove everything

    chose keep my files

chose the account - type the password - click on local reinstall - click on reset

    It will be in progress..

login to computer and start using the computer.

If it is still not working

click on start - settings - update and security - recovery - reset this pc - get started

    chose remove everything

click on local reinstall - just remove my files - click on reset

    It will be in progress

    Note:

If you do refresh ( keep my files ) - all your personal files like pictures, music , documents , videos will still be intact.  Only the applications will be lost

If you do reset ( remove everything ) - you are doing a factory default.  It will become like a day one computer.  It will wipe out everything and take your computer to day one like a new computer.

You can also do the recovery in an alternative way..

There are two alt keys on the keyboard. If you look at the bottom row of keyboard you can see the one on the left side of space bar and the other on the right side of space bar. The alt key on the right side will be looking like alt, alt gr or alt car. Turn off the computer. Hold the alt key on the left and tap f10 continuously.  It will go to repair mode. It will show you chose an option, continue, troubleshoot.  If it is not going to repair mode, turn off the computer. Turn on the computer. Hold the right alt key ( alt gr or alt car or alt ) and then tap f10 continuously. It will go to chose an option continue and troubleshoot..

It will show you chose an option, continue, troubleshoot

Go to troubleshoot - click on reset this pc

click on keep my files ( only applications will be lost )  chose your account and type your password  - click on local reinstall - click on reset

    It will be in progress

If the keep my files option is not working

Go to troubleshoot - click on reset this pc – click on remove everything – click on local reinstall – just remove my files – click on reset

    It will reinstall windows.

If the just remove my files is not working..

Go to troubleshoot - click on reset this pc – click on remove everything – click on local reinstall – Fully clean the drive – click on reset

    It will reinstall windows.

Note: You can also go to chose an option , continue , troubleshoot by holding the alt key + tapping f10 or alt gr + tapping f10 on the keyboard while turning on the computer.  Once you see the troubleshoot option, you can stop tapping the f10 and stop holding the alt key.  Then you can try the keep my files and remove everything ( just remove by files and fully clean the drive ) by following the steps which was mentioned above.

After reinstalling the windows, please try it with a new headset and check.

    It should work fine.
