    Hi,
You can use a M.2 NVMe SSD or a M.2 SATA SSD  in your model, there won't be any noticeable difference between them in normal use of the laptop but if you transfer large files often you may benefit by installing a NVMe SSD, if the price difference between these two are small, buy a M.2 NVMe SSD and install.

The AN515-51 accepts both PCIe 3 x4 and SATA 3 m.2 drives the top drive fitted to this laptop as an OEM by Acer is the PCIe 3 x4 INTEL - SSDPEKKW512G7 F:109C (read 1285MB/s and write 1280MB/s) so match that with the M.2 NVMe PCIe 3 x4 drives that you will purchase, as that is the top performance drive that your AN515-51 utilizes to get its best drive performance. Note, the quicker PCIe 3 x4 M.2 drives if you purchase, they will all be a waste of your money for no performance gain. IMO the best M.2 NVMe PCIe 3 x4 that is suitable for your AN515-51 is the WD NS570 (write 1200MB/s/read 3300MB/s) as its available from 256GB to 2TB capacities and this drive is a good price and will give you the best value for money but, its up to you as there are other manufacturers that sell these similar drives too.

Thanks Steven, I Find your answer helpful, but please notice than my model is Aspire 5 a515-51-52TE, while your pointing a  "AN515-51", which is a Nitro, and mine is an Aspire. So I am not sure if your explanation applies to my model.
