I get solid 60-70 fps when I’m playing mmos on my PH-315-51. I bought an external monitor, but running both displays causes high gpu usage. When I turn off the display on my laptop and only run the external, my fps drops significantly and it starts to stutter. Any solutions? My drivers are up to date and i have power management set to favor performance. Thanks

It’s an Acer Predator PH315-51 and yes, a normal hdmi display. I found an article online talking about disabling power saving in the bios but I didn’t find any such setting in mine, so I came here.

Check cable is good quality & drivers updated.
Turn off Sound on hdmi from C. pannel unless you use it.
Does your monitor support 60/144hz at your chosen resolution & its not some TV with 30hz/48hz pannel?
What resolution do you use on 2nd monitor?
I`d set power to Balanced; Performance only keeps CPU at Max 24/7 thus always staying quite hot.

Test on one game 1st + other taxing/testing software and find more conclusive results.
Does this happen with every app? Is heatsink clean and paste ok ish/old?

PH315-51 can send 144hz thru HDMI at most on 2k res, as long as the monitor accepts it
