my sound disappears and recovers at random.i seem to lose it for longer each time it goes off..i have tried everything  that i know to recover sound,without success.it has been recommended that i try uninstalling drivers,and reinstalling,using internet to find and download drivers,but i dont feel confident doing this as i have never had to do it before.(i am in a rural area,with little opportunity to visit a computer store to ask advice,or get it done for me,and i like to fix problems myself,but this seems outside my capabilities)i wonder if anyone has any advice ,every so often i get a message telling me a speaker jack is unplugged,but how can this be so,if my computer is an all-in-one model,(with touchscreen and speakers built in)-no speaker to unplug!! besides,the sound occasionally returns,too..

Uninstalling and reinstalling your drivers isn't as scarey as it sounds. What type of computer do you have? 

Drivers are a piece of software that for some reason can eventually need to be reinstalled. Let me know what system you have and I'll try to help.
