Hello to all.

I have an Acer Aspire 5315 purchased in 2007, originally charged with Vista.

Vista was a disaster so a tech guru, replaced it with WinXP sp3 and I have never looked back.

Purely for web surfing and email.

 

THe ACer has now been superceded with a new laptop. But I think (like an old combi) there are some more miles in the Acer yet.  So I am going to use it as a learning excercise. Maybe Linux or MS OS again.

It has never been stable but it copped a caning over the years as a basic info gatherer for my business needs.

 

I look forward to consulting you all on each stage of learning.

The Aspires specs are rather lean by 2013 standards -- recently found 2 core RAM on the net, but seller would not post to Australia. I was willing to pay!
