Can't turn off the usb charing port after shutdown

Why Acer doesn't provide a [Content Removed] option to disable this annoying thing (for me I don't need it). They only implemented the option to stop it when the power supply if off via Quick Access app.

I tried everything: disabling usb selective suspend from power plans, disabling fast boot from bios, checked in device manager "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

I don't get it. How dumb can you be to not implement something that basic and provice a [Content Removed] option to only stop it when the energy supply is non-existent.

If you have a solution to this please help me. And please don't say to me "power off the supply" because I don't want to. I just want to disable it and that's it.

First of all, drop all the foul language and ranting, then provide your full laptop model, year and Windows version and, maybe people will help you. BTW you don't check the box "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in Device Manager, Device Properties, Power Management, but you clear that box for each device.

I apologize for the foul language, but it is frustrating that they didn't implement something so simple in the Quick Acces app and they implemented only when the laptop is on battery which is stupid.

That is a serial number not the full laptop model's name, if you are not sure of your laptop model look at the back side there will be an Acer sticker or type System in Search and look after "System Model" that is the laptop full model's name. This USB suspend and USB ports being charged 24/7 issue when the laptop is completely shut down, not S3, hybrid or in hibernate mode is challenging in Windows11 23H2 with the new S0 Modern Standby protocol (legacy Sleep mode), Google this topic to find out more.

I recommend disabling the Fast Startup and Hibernate options in Power Plan and to reset the Power Plan to factory defaults, it is possible that you don't shut down correctly.

SNID isn't it unique for the laptop? If you type it on acer drivers whatever you will get the model which is this one also in the sysem model that you mentioned.

Isn't this the proper method to shutdown?

didi123, Press windows button, type Acer quick access > here you would see option called power off USB charging > Please disable this option and check.

I upgraded the BIOS

I don't want W11 yet, the design is bad and the optimiztion worse, so I will wait for a more refined version.

Also this is not an excuse for acer not implementing that feature completely.

You got that wrong: Windows11 is far more advanced than W10, security and design wise, the W11 system is more robust than W10 and updating/upgrading including drivers is a breeze, W11 Edge has now Copilot IA logic.

The reason you should upgrade to W11 is two-fold: Windows10 will be no longer upgraded next year you will continue getting security updates till 2025 but no feature updates, the other reason is that you probably have a mismatch of W10 and W11 drivers and that could cause your USB issue.

I will leave it hereby and advise you work a bit on your demeanor as that is abominable as the French would say 😑

My demeanor doesn't have to do anything with this problem… If the drivers are mismatched as you are saying, I am blaming the incompetence sorry if you don't want to hear it.

Support for W10 is not finished as you said and migration to W11 is not over so I am blaming them for not being thorough enough with their products and devices… It seems that you really don't want to hear it though

Again, they only implemented the feature for laptop on battery mode and not an option for when is plugged which is such a basic and simple thing to do. You really don't want to accept it
