Does the Acer spin 3 SP513-52N-58 allow built in headset mics to function through apps like discord?

I specifically use a recon 70 (Turtle Beach) for my games however, I'm unsure if it works for the Acer spin 3. For starters, does the cable (3.5mm) work with the portal on the side of the laptop? If yes, how can I set up the microphone? I've tried pretty much everything in settings and nothing has worked. The only thing left to do is update my drivers on an app called Driver Easy. Windows says there's nothing to update but Driver easy says Realtek needs to be updated. If the laptop doesn't take my headset or 3.5mm cables, does the Acer TravelMate P4 take cables (specifically 3.5mm)?

It should do, in discord does it show the headset as available when connected? (the recon 70 is a single jack headset right?)

Yes, it is a single Jack however, the headset doesn't show up as an option for any settings whether it's discord or windows

    It's not a separate item.

Set it as headset, your headset mic will work.

Lightly tap your headset mic, the signal meter will jump.

Does your lappy have the realtek console app, if so it would be in there you set it to headset :)

When I go to download the application on the Microsoft store, it comes up with an error every time

Is there another way to set it to headset?

I know Microsoft doesn't offer the app anymore but is there any other way to make the headset mic actually work on my laptop?

does it say what the error is? the other option would be to grab it fromthe acer support site where it should have a copy of it. Which spin 3 is it :) (such as SP314-21) :)?

I have no clue tbh. It has the core I5 (Intel 8th Gen) and fingerprint, that's about it. Can you tell me what's stopping it from being picked up by settings? I've looked at some tutorials on YouTube and mics are often just picked up instantly from settings. Do you know what's the fastest and easiest way to go about it?

Most of the time its due to the weird way 3.5m jacks work on devices, as there are many "standards" the driver has to figure out what sort of thing you are connecting, and in what order the TRRRS is in (the rings around the jack). Two rings are audio and one is for the mic, but the order of them, and the position of them can change epending on the headset and manufacturer (thanks apple for ignorning the standard and creating a mess!) . This on topof the weird and wonderful audio landscape of every manufacturer doing things slightly differnly, made the jack manufactures just make it so that each of the inputs inside of the jack can be configured , which is what changing it to "headset" in the control panel does

If the console is working correctly, you should get the little pop up which asks what you have plugged in, if you dont, its usually because the console isnt starting for some reason or another (missing driver, bawked install, windows being windows)  or its been suspressed. So easyiest check is to see if the console is already there, if not, to re install the driver and the console :)

If you have acer care centre installed it should be in there, or is it this one by chance :) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-Convertible-I5-8265U-Rechargeable-SP314-53N-53SH/dp/B07WGQB5XK   if so you should be able to grab the console from https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/7994?b=1&pn=NX.HFCAA.001

To be honest, idk if I wanna uninstall things cause once I do, I have no idea how to get them back. Especially since I'm not the most tech savvy person. Is there a simple way to do it or nah? Or a tutorial on YT where it shows me about uninstalling it and reinstalling it?

You can just re install the drivers over the top as long as you know you have the right ones, but if your not sure it may be worth just trying to install the console and not touchitng the drivers!

Only thing is, I can't find a version of the console caue Microsoft Store doesn't supply the download anymore? Do you know any trustworthy websites that have a copy to download?

Flip the laptop upside down, there should be a sticker somewhere telling you the laptop model. Or run acer care center. Or run dxdiag.

If you can't even figure out what computer model you have, you are out of your league to fix this issue.

The realtek audio console is a non-searchable item on Microsoft Store.

It can only be installed on your computer if you installed the Acer OEM realtek audio drivers correctly --- by using the included setup.exe or by the cmd command (admin mode).
