AEB’s Surveillance System for Infection and Antimicrobial Resistance Wins WITSA Global ICT Award

Standing out amongst 129 other nominations, Acer e-Enabling Service Business Inc. (AEB) was bestowed with the Global ICT Excellence Award - COVID-19 Best Industry Solution by WITSA (World Information Technology and Service Alliance) for the THAS system (Taiwan Healthcare Associated Infection and Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System) it built for Taiwan’s Centers for Disease Control. This is an encouraging sign that AEB’s efforts to apply technology to pandemic prevention is bearing fruit, and it also affirms Taiwan's outstanding achievements in keeping COVID-19 under control.

THAS has already been successfully linked to more than 600 major medical institutions in Taiwan, amounting to a 90% coverage rate island-wide. More than 1,400 medical professionals have used the platform to gather information about infection cases, review reports about antibiotic resistance, and to monitor and analyze cases of infection. This better enables them to take critical preventative steps before an outbreak occurs, making it a crucial addition to Taiwan's healthcare system.
