Acer marked a viewership milestone at IEM Katowice 2020 by reaching over 32.5 million fans via content on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Acer went out of its way to find a means to support the tournament and engage with fans despite the Covid-19 situation, focusing on a “digital first strategy” that leveraged influencers, media and their social media channels.
IEM Katowice 2020 itself was a milestone in the history of Intel Extreme Masters (IEM), seeing a record-breaking 6.2 million fans tune in official streams to watch an impressive final between Natus Vincere and G2 eSports. This participation is especially incredible considering that the local Silesian government had ordered the event be closed to the public just hours before its doors were scheduled to open, due to Covid-19.
