nitro 7 - NVME vs SATA M.2

I have bought a nitro 7 with a 256 GB SATA 2 SSD

I wanted to upgrade and got a 1TB sata 2 from Crucial.

The computer doesn't see it. Speccy software doesn't see it. double and triple checked and it's installed correctly.

I wonder if the second M.2 slot if NVME and the first is SATA2, i couldn't find anywhere the exact specs for the slots.

so I was thinking to get another SSD, this time a 1TB NVME and then swap the 256 SATA 2 with the 1 TB SATA 2 so i don't have to send back the 1TB SATA2 and will end up with 2 TB storage, there's no 2'5" drive yet.

But the crucial question is why doesn't the second slot recognize the new SSD, is it because it's a SATA2 instead of NVME?

I looked into the BIOS to see if I could change settings for the M.2 slots but there's nothing.
