Acer has partnered with French innovator, Franky Zapata, who made the world’s first successful English Channel crossing on a jet-powered flyboard on August 4, 2019. Zapata took off from Sangatte in northern France and landed near Dover, south east of England 20 minutes later completing the 35 km journey. His persistence along with a creative and innovation-oriented mind has enabled him to overcome this challenge and Acer congratulates him for this incredible and technical milestone.
Acer and Zapata share the same passion for exploring future technologies with the goal of making them available for more people. The dream of crossing the channel on a flyboard has been achieved, but the dream of having more people around the world fly has yet to come true. Acer and Zapata will continue the pursuit of innovative and disruptive projects, with the support of Acer’s new ConceptD PCs for creators. He is already pioneering the flying sports car segment and plans to unveil his wildest creation yet in the coming months.
