Aspire 3690 DVD Cd and Cd rom troubleshooting for some time-

The laptop was bought in 2007. Some dvd it would not read from the beginning. But this is something new.

The supports that used to get read are now listed as wrong.

I can force it if I tinker with the driver. I ask for the computer to install the one that is in the windows (the driver in the acer file does not it), but it does not last. Besides, some cd can run that way but make a terrrible noise.

I read somewhere that this kind of driver comes from microsoft, but I do not know how to search for it.

I also did check the sound panel.

I know about the procedure that consist of erasing some keys in the register, but I can't use the windows failsafe tool, because of my security software (northon 2011 internet security).The failsage is blocked by it.
