acer aspire 5745g won't turn on.

hi i have a acer aspire 5745g ultra-thin. i went to turn it on and it froze when i turned it on. so i held the power button down to shut it off and then i ended up turning it back on and it said "it didn't shut down properly and there were two choices. option 1. start windows with windows repair. option 2. start windows normally." i didn't have time to click anything and it automatically clicked the "start windows with windows repair" option and as soon as it did that it looked like it was starting then it shut down. i clicked the power button and it lit up like it was going to turn on but then the light goes away and it doesn't light up and doesn't turn on. when you put your ear near the part of the laptop where the hard drive is it sounds like it wants to turn on but doesn't. im not sure if anyone came across this problem before or not or knows what it is but any help or response would help to narrow the problem down. i don't have a problem to bring it to a technician but know someone who can fix computers if i get parts. some has told me it sounds like the hard drive went and need a new one. but not sure. thanks in advanced.

It actually sounds like you have a power issue, not a hard drive issue. 

If the hard drive was inaccessable, it would not cause the system to power down or not power on at all.

 

Remove the battery and attempt to power the system from AC only.
