Als ik een vraag stel op dit forum (in het Nederlands) wordt deze heel ander weergegeven.

In het vervolg zal ik de engelse taal gebruiken ?

    IMO best to ask technical questions only in English for any forum, easy to translate from Dutch with these AI translators.

    Is that a plea to abolish the parts of the community where users can post in their own native languages?This can of course be considered.

    I don't answer in the englishspeaking part of the community because I understand the questions (especially the technical ones) very much better in German und my answers in German are for the German users very much better understandable.

    IMHO users better shouldn't post their questions in English when they are on the spanishspeaking, frenchspeaking, germanspeaking, etc. speaking part of the community. This parts of the community have been "created" to give the users the option to post in their own languages.

    A translator is very helpful but is isn't a equivalent substitute for writing (and thinking) in your native language. I have studied the German language ("Germanistik") at the university of Heidelberg and know about the lots of misunderstandings when nuances can't be understood.

    Imho best for most of the users is when they post their questions in the language they are nativly speaking. In countries that don't have a separat Acer Community website in their own language (for instance the Netherlands) the users should use that part of the community where they understand the language best.

That said, I’ve found that English tends to be the most effective language for technical discussions — not just because it’s widely used, but because most terminology in IT, hardware, and software originates in English.

    Major innovations in cyber technology have historically come from the U.S., and even in Germany and France, much of the cutting-edge research is published in English first. For non-native speakers like myself, thinking and phrasing questions in English helps reduce ambiguity and makes it easier to engage with global communities.

    While I respect linguistic pride, sticking strictly to national languages in tech forums can unintentionally isolate users from broader knowledge-sharing. I believe embracing English in technical contexts isn’t about abandoning culture — it’s about connecting more effectively.

    I share most of the points of your view.

    Additional I think that for lots of users the international english speaking platform can be better, because there are much more helpers (e.g. more of us ACES) and the "brainpool" is very much bigger. Many users post their questions as well in the international part of the community as in the part of their native language.

    But we both know about the many users that have problems to formulate their problem exacly even when they use their native language and that have less or none previous technical education.

    When someone asks a question like "My notebook is no longer working. What can I do?" it's often hard to figure out what it is all about.^^

    For those people it is probably better to post and receive answers in their own language.

    I have been working for about 30 years with persons with an intellectual disability and know how helpful "Leichte Sprache" can be.
