Aw: Welke taal is het beste om vragen hiet te stellen?
Hi Jochen, I appreciate your perspective and the value of native-language forums. That said, I’ve found that English tends to be the most effective language for technical discussions — not just because it’s widely used, but because most terminology in IT, hardware, and software originates in English.
Major innovations in cyber technology have historically come from the U.S., and even in Germany and France, much of the cutting-edge research is published in English first. For non-native speakers like myself, thinking and phrasing questions in English helps reduce ambiguity and makes it easier to engage with global communities.
While I respect linguistic pride, sticking strictly to national languages in tech forums can unintentionally isolate users from broader knowledge-sharing. I believe embracing English in technical contexts isn’t about abandoning culture — it’s about connecting more effectively.
Best regards, Frank
