Sleep issues with Aspire 5736

For a while, whenever I close my laptop, it would often sleep. Most of the time, it would wake up by either opening the lid or if I press a button on the keyboard. However, recently, whenever I open the lid if it sleeps, it would shut off and have to turn it back on. It doesn't do that if I let it sleep without closing the lid.

Is there a way to just wake the laptop on just tapping on the keyboard rather than automatically opening the lid?

BTW, it still works fine if I turn it on whenever it does that.

    Ethana945,

If you have the system set up to go to sleep when closing the lid it should come back on when you press a key on the keyboard. If you are pressing a key on the keyboard and it's not, have you tried pressing the power button to see if that does it? My recommendations:

Check your power settings to make sure nothing has changed.

Did this happen after a Windows update ran or something was installed, maybe doing system restore to when it worked and working forward from there might help.
