Sorry for what might be considered a spam reply, but I'm just posting to save this topic for future reference (I'm probably going to be getting this device)
Save yourself the hassle, it keeps getting more and more issues as time passes. I liked the device usability, but it ends up being unusable, mine has been 3 weeks at Best Buy Techs (since my replacing period ended) and so far they have replaced the motherboard, button, and wifi card, the same issues (win button getting stuck and wifi malfunctioning) keep reappearing. They were going to try another motherboard and if the issues still appear will be issuing a replacement; or so they said. I hope they allow me to chose another model 'cause this one sucks. Sorry to say that.

So from what I'm guessing from everything I've read is that the "Zero Gap" technology may be the culprit here?
I havent had the issue in a while, but I'm still hesitant to try and make it happen again. My 14 days are up on Friday, so I'm still unsure whether or not to keep the tablet. I like it. When it works, its fantastic. I just hate having this issue in the back of my mind everytime I use it.
Decisions, decisions......

Hi,
Bought a Switch 10 despite this topic. Just hoped I wouldn't have the same problem you all are having. I installed all windows updates. This was the first time a had the bug. After a reboot it went fine for a day or so.
I just had the bug again. The difference is that a reboot didn't change a thing. After cleaning the capacitive button and a reboot the problem was gone.
I will see what happens and let you know whether the bug comes back or not.

Hi ! Just read your posts. I was going to change my ASUS T100 (connection pb btween screen and dock) for an ACER SWITCH but after reading all the pb you've got, I will just change for another ASUS T100 though I prefer the Acer clearer screen, larger screen/dock angle (better to work outside which is a pb with the ASUS) and aluminum look (instead of the glossy black ASUS). A real pity ACER didn't do anything to improve its new really catchy item.
And ACER doesn"t seem very concerned by all your pb.
Hope they'll be corrected soon though.
ACER should be aware that a lot of new consumers like me will go back to ASUS for fear of unsolved pb with the SWITCH
Thanks to all of you. Since you prevented me from buying a defective PC.

Here about the same, I will continue to spread this info: I bought a 32Gb and a 64Gb switch 10. I returned both of them due to the described issues and bought the ASUS T100 64Gb Z3775 with 500Gb HDD in the dock. Acer won't see me back as a customer untill they provided a good excuse and solved the issues. They should have to pay a penalty for ingroning their customers.

So after using the tablet for another few days I have to conclude the problem keeps arising.
Really don't know why, thought that fat on the screen might cause it but cleaning doesn't always help.
It makes it a bit difficult to use the convertible as tablet because you can't easily go back to the start screen or put it in sleep.
Using a tip on this forum I placed a turn off button on the start screen which makes turning the tablet off less of a hassle but still for €349,- I expect a working power button and volume rockers.
I'll see what happens in the next days but I'll probably return it and go for a..... yeah thats the question.
Place power button on start screen: http://community.acer.com/t5/Windows-Tablets/W510-

I'm disgusted ! the seller was so persuasive, telling me that if it was on the net, it was only because the only people posting were those who have problems and no one has ever had one with all the Acer Swith they have sold. My foot ! I finally changed my Asus pour the Acer Switch DD 500 Go and guess what ? first time I plug in, the volume button goes crazy opening a narrator voice telling me all about what was written on the screen. First time I used it ! thought it was maybe one out of 1000 (as the seller said) but I've got the defective one You know what ? I thing they all are.
and I can add a new country on the map : France.
What do I do now ? I exchanged my Asus and they won't want accept the exchnage again. I should have taken another Asus. Dis-gus-ted !

Hi Freddd,
Best you first install the BIOS and driver updates.
If the problem does come back (and I expect it will) it is a defective device as posted by ACER in this thread and you should try to return it or change it back for another tablet. If they don't want to change it they will need to accept it as a defective device and send it to ACER for repair under your warrenty.
Good luck.

Curious. Why did you return the ASUS? I bought that (T100) instead of the ACER because of this forum thread and have been happy so far.
