Why in the hell would they remove your thread? I found it very insightful. *sigh*

You can update the firmware of your router, but what about the router on a cafe, airport, college, office?

Boy I have to say, this doesn't look good since there is a 66-page thread over at the Lenovo forums about how the U310 wireless sucks (same Atheros as ours). No solution from IBM yet and that has a lot more users. I'm starting to worry. I still don't think a USB dongle is the best approach here, since I almost broke it off when I threw it in my bag today. Argh.

I had the same WiFi problems with my W510. I tried installing both versions of the Acer drivers and neither worked.
I finally got my WiFi to work by downloading the Broadcom network adapter driver from the HP website (dated 1/1/13):

Hopefully this will fix the problem permanently...

Myatt, I am computer illiterate and don't have a clue what you are really talking about. But I am desperate to find how to fix my A500 Wi-Fi issues. I don't even know how to get to the control panel. This version is not a windows base, which I wish it did, then I would know how to at least get there.

Hello everyone,
While our members are generally eager to provide useful information, be advised that Acer does not validate third party external links for downloads and is not responsible for them.
Acquiring files through such links is at the user’s own risk.
Thanks!

I understand your position and the company, however, when you have tried to get in touch with the company and cannot, I don't know what else to do! I would welcome an e=mail even to help me get in touch with technical support or who just repaired my tablet.

Phil, we would all appreciate a reply to my following query:
Where are we supposed to go for help with our defective W700 since Acer is not providing any reslolution? Acer promised to provide a driver past version 217 v3 on January 8th, 2013 or earlier. We have not received any information for a possible updated ETA, nor have we received an update.
After several diligent posts of aknowledgement with problems from other manufacturers using the Atheros AR5BMD222 (as their user forums are full of posts of problems), where does Acer stand on this issue?
I personally have finally resolved my WiFi connectivity problems with the 217 v3 drivers, but my BT audio rarely syncs with the video. Now that my WiFi issues are resolved, I have exactly 13 days to return my w700-6465 for a full refund. Be sure that I am going to return it if the BT audio issues are not resolved before then as I use BT audio over 50% of the time.
Note: I own 2 Windows 8 laptops that do not experience this BT audio sync problem and 2 Windows 8 desktops that are free from BT audio problems as well.
Acer is burying its head in the sand and the lack of response is not positive behavior from a public relations perspective.
