Windows 7 Activation failure

I recently purchased an Acer Veriton (VM2630G).  However, for my application, I wanted 2 hard drives in a RAID array.  Before changing the system, I checked the Product ID & Windows 7 Pro CD Key, so I had them for reference.  I then added a PCI-e RAID card and a second hard drive and reinstalled Windows 7 Pro onto the new RAID drive from a friends OEM install disc.  I used the factory installed CD Key during the Windows setup, but now when I try to activate it, the activation fails.  Upon calling Microsoft, they tell me that Acer has blocked this CD Key from being activated.  Why can't I activate my brand new computer with the OEM CD Key on an OEM software install?

Using Acer recovery media created by the system or purchased from Acer does not require a product key to be entered when installing. I see you stated you used a friends OEM install disc, was it for and created by the exact same system (VM4630G) or are we talking an actual Windows 7 Professional disc? If it was not Acer recovery media created by the system or purchased from Acer the product key will not work using an actual Windows 7 Professional disc.
