I'm running an Acer desktop with Windows 8.1.  I put a second hard drive in and the computer recognizes the drive. If I unplug the first hard drive the second hard drive will come on and work fine. I went into the bios and enabled the boot menu. Then with both drive hooked up I can't access the second drive by hitting F12. The first drive always comes up. How can I access that second hard drive?

in BIOS there's any option about secure boot?

try to disable it and see if the second HDD appears.

It is not listed. The First Dirve just comes on. Thats the problem it  never gives a choice as it did in Windows 7. I did find the secure boot it was under Authentication. It was already enalbled.

I was reading this. So, if I add a second drive. Basically the drive from my windows7 computer with my movies on it, my Acer will see it automatically or will I need to tell it to find it?

    Thanks

This is not related to see or not an additional HDD from windows OS but the possibility to choose from which HDD boot from bootable device list at BIOS.

I did disable it. Didn't help. I'm thinking about getting rid of it and finding anothe Windows 7. I have tried about everything.

Never launch UEFI OPRON only. Always launch legacy opron only. That, what is says.

    Legacy is ok.

i don't know why you have only one HDD at time on bootable devices, maybe BIOS limitation but not sure.

I understand. I'm going to try a couple more things in the boot menu. It's a puzzle far sure.
