Computer froze and had to take battery out. Now it says it's diagnosing pc. Tried 3 times now but still not doing anything. Tried doing over night son tried to get into advanced settings but failed. Got it running diagnose again. What can I do and why has this happened. Many thanks for any help. Oh it also downloaded Windows 10 last week couldn't stop it.

if it was only windows...why is freezing again?

so now it's on windows 10?

if so, you can create a bootable media and try to fix the boot issue:

Done diagnose bit got into advance options came up with 1.continue Windows 10. 2.use a device. 3.troubleshoot. 4.turn off.  We tried trouble shoot this morning didn't work so just tried continue but screen just showing these options but faintly like in the background.... not sure what to do next.

    on Troubleshoot try advanced options

    startup repair

or you can try a Reset keeping user files if it's able to do it.

Tried Reset, didn't work. Went to checking disc gave me a count down to stop it. Tried skipping and 2nd time left it but Still going back to diagnose pc either way.

Boot from windows 10 media, enter troubleshoot, advanced options, command prompt.
    Once in command prompt type
    chkdsk C: /f

This will check your HDD and fix errors if any.

Before these screens came up it said. Config data is missing. There was also bad system config. file efimicr boot BCD  error 0000001.   Also said something about system thread but screen went off.

    2 things:

    1) enable F12 menu from BIOS, so pressing F12 at boot will let you choose the bootable device aka DVD or USB or windows boot manager

    2) clear the frozen HDD password:

    http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/32674/~/bios-password-frozen

then try to boot again and if you receive BCD message again:

Boot from windows 10 media, enter troubleshoot, advanced options, command prompt.
    Once in command prompt type

    bootrec /fixmbr
    bootrec /fixboot
    bootrec /scanos
    bootrec /rebuildbcd
Once the command completes, restart the computer.

You know on bios it has restore secure boot to factory default. Will that take me back and clear all problems?

    Nope.

    About frozen password, try this.
Set supervisor pass, save and exit.
Enter BIOS, try to clear HDD pass if successfull, save and exit.
Enter BIOS again, check HDD pass, if it's clear, clear also supervisor pass, save and exit.

    Ok.
If you boot from the windows 10 bootable media, are you able to run the commands on command prompt?
