    it can be used for caching but you need to set it as caching with Intel software, not an issue if you clone your actual HDD to new SSD; since the software is already installed.

     

    in my opinion, not worth since the speed-up will be very very limited using a SSD as primary drive.

    This VN7 has 1 TB drive and 8 gb SSD.

    Question :

    1/ What added value this 8 gb SSD brings to the system ?

    2/ Is it an adressable storage (E:, F: etc ...) or a caching function ?

    caching function, this can speed up loading OS and programs.

    Hi IronFly, If I install SSD 500 gb in place of the 1 Tb disk, would that 8 gb caching still run smoothly ?

    Or is it better to physically remove the 8 gb caching ?

    (Eliminate it to keep the organisation simple, since the SSD already perform quite good...)
