Correct. 217v3 and 221 do not work. Although 221 seems to last longer

This is odd, I haven't had any problem with the v217 V3. I had the 221 installed and I just had one disconnection in two weeks, just for fun I installed again the 217 v3 and no problems in 3 days so far

I tried .217.v3 , .221 and .75 and none fixed the problem. Like multiple people have said.. it seems one may work for a little while, but then the disconnects start happening and progressively gets worst.
Acer_Cory says they identified the issue and are working on a newdriver, but we haven't heard from him since, and there is no new driver as of yet.
Possibly WiFi Channel interferance:
One user had a good idea.. which was to monitor WiFi channel usage in your area and change your router to a channel less heavily used. I tried this as well. As you see competing WiFi routers dynamically switch to the channel you are using I would see the disconnect occur. This may be an area Acer cna look into.
Possible Win8 bug:
Note, users from other Acer forums with other laptop versions mentioned that they never had disconnect issues with Win7. When they update to win8 is when they started getting Wifi disconnects.

There's a new BIOS version 2.12, does somebody know what it does?

The Download link for the 2.12 Bios does not work at the moment (404). http://support.acer.com/product/default.aspx?model

2.12 seems to make Wifi worse..
Acer - Please update us on what's going on here. Frustrating..

I spoke with a computer tech at the store I purchased this laptop from. He informed that HP printers had this same issue and they told him it was due to the latest WiFi technology hopping between stronger WiFi signals in his area, and if you live in an multi-dwelling building you will have this same issue. To remedy the problem, HP provided him a patch for the printer which locked his WiFi connection to just his wireless router and that solved his WiFi issue with the printer.
Maybe Acer can look into something like this as a fix.

Still no problems with 221 here, 12 days in a row now.

Maybe another tip as long the issue remains ... When the wifi connection drops, just switch "airplane mode" on and off using FN+Q. The connection will recovery much faster!

delphino,
Did you loose the ability to access the BIOS settings with Fn F2 after you loaded the 2.12 BIOS? I can no longer access the BIOS setting duuring the boot sequence (not that it's really that useful anyway).
