Add my S7-391-9839 (Microsoft Store model) to the list of machines with Wi-Fi issues, losing Internet connectivity randomly while all other devices stay connected. I'm on .217 Driver and things did get better when I set my router to "N" only, but it still happens ut not as often. It does seem to be related to the numbe of pipes open simultaneously, but I'm not 100% on that.
im using a Linksys EA6500 Router connected on the 2.4GHz band (I use the 5GHz band to stream media to my media-only devices, keeping 2.4 for PC's, Tablets and Smartphones).

I used Battlerager's solution and since then I've had no problems.
I will mention one thing which may be important. When I uninstalled the device driver going through device manager, I noticed that instead of appearing as an unknown device after uninstall, it had instead disappeared completely. When I scanned for changes it appeared that the driver had reinstalled itself and the Qualcomm was back 'working properly' under network adapters.
So I uninstalled it again and then ran the setup package of the .221 drivers, it offered me the choice to repair, modify or remove - just to be on the safe side and as it appeared that the uninstall hadn't completely removed it I chose to uninstall. After reboot I re-ran the installation package of athe .221 and this time the only option was to install giving me confidence that it had been cleaned more successfully.
Since then, I have had no problems whatsoever, beforehand, I was dropping the connection every few minutes.
Acer, sort it out and put a proper uninstall package together with the .221 install and release it through the live update.
Sleep and wake up have been no problem so far (and I just checked). Have you checked that connect automatically is selected?

I am not tech savvy so I don't have the time or ability to investigate possible fixes for this piece of junk. I paid over $3,000.00 for two S7's and one is still sitting in the box because of this Acer scam.
The best post I have seen here, other than mine, is the one that suggests you write as many bad reviews as possible on as many sites as you can reach. Use searchable language such as "Acer scam" and "Acer Aspire S7 defects" so that the search engines pick it up. Get a huge sign and stand in front of the Microsoft Store and warn people not to buy the S7. Make a utube video showing the price tag of this pile of crap.
The internet and Bluetooth don't work and the keys double-produce at times, and Acer knows it. In this post alone I have had to correct eight or ten words because of the double lettering problem.

So far I haven't had any problems with my WIFI after updating to the .221 drivers, yesterday I used the laptop for 6-8hrs for work and play and no problem at work and home! By the way, I updated to the latest driver by clicking on the repair button on the driver installation and that's it, I dind't uninstall the old ones or anything else. I'll keep posting updates if situation changes

I was having wifi issues as well. Bought this Acer S7-391-6822 yesterday. The Wifi was intermittant every 15-30 minutes. I installed driver 10.0.0.217 and same issue. Where are you guys finding this driver .221? I am not seeing it anywhere on acer's web site to download it as Acers web site only has 10.0.0.217 available for download. I was able to google and find the .221 driver on some mediafire web site so I am testing it out now.
Edit (6:12pm): After testing out .221 the Wifi disconnected after about 30 minutes and then re-connected. Taking this unit back to the store for an exchange.
Edit (10:28pm): I went to the MS store and exchanged the S7 for another new one. I tested the laptop inside the MS store for 45 minutes using Wifi browsing and it never disconnected. I did multiple browsers with tabs and streaming videos. The driver that came on the system was 10.0.0.75. I am back home now and using my home network and testing WiFi. Will report back tomorrow.
Edit (9:39am): The next morning I turned the laptop on and logged in and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Without doing anything I saw the wireless connection drop. I went into the WiFi adapter configuration power managment tab and unchecked all the boxes. Also changed my power settings to max performance and made sure there was no power save options turned on...on the hdd and wifi adapter. I am testing again. Report back soon.
Edit (11:16am): I only tested it for about 30 minutes and no drops but I've decided to return this one back to the store due to the trackpad not clicking/pressing down good. I'm debating if I want to exchange for another or go with a different brand. *sigh*
Edit (6:16pm): I've decided to return the unit and I ordered a thinkpad x1 carbon instead. I love the acer design but with the wifi issues, buzzing noise from the backlit keyboard, glossy screen, fans seem to run all the way even with light web browsing and touchpad seemed to slide around and making additional noise...I just can't take it anymore. If there was better quality control then I might think about going back. Acer please make an S7 with non-glossy screen and fix all the issues I mentioned above.

Acer (Hong Kong region) released a new wifi driver.
Atheros Wireless LAN Driver (new)Version 10.0.0.217 .V3 on 2012/12/28
Anyone tried this? If yes, please report the result.

I just installed V3, it still doesn't work. Connection drops. Also from some reason, because they don't change the name of the driver (the version number) then it's really hard to insall it. Windows claims you have it already so it doesn't update it, it says "you have it already" Why not give it a freaking different name??? Also why the avcr updater doesn't update these drivers, why do I need to check every day if there is a new one?

I repeat, the V3 does NOT fix the problem.

We received some good news over the weekend. It appears that that an issue with the install of the .217 drivers prevented an older file from being removed or replaced which allowed any connection issues to persist.
Our team is working closely with our partners and we expect a modified .217 drivers to be available within the next couple weeks. We plan to promote this on our driver and download sites as well as directly through the Acer Live Updater. We expect expect that everyone should feel a vast improvement on their wireless connection quality with this new driver. Additionally, a completely new driver will be released (presumably 10.0.0.218) once it is properly tested and qualified.
We appreciate everyone patience as well as all of the feedback provided from the community.

Looks like Acer may have pulled this driver off the web site. Can't beleive they don't have a fix released for ths critical problem. My S7 is just unuseable right now. ANyone tried visiting a MS Store for help from their answer desk. I'm not sure I want to waste my time with that, but just curious.
