Hi all,
I'm not an owner of the S7 but instead I have a V5. V5 owners are also running into the exact same problem with "Limited connection" wifi dropouts. Upgrading to the latest Atheros drivers (same version as posted as what you guys have) does not work. Only installing Windows 7 Atheros drivers solved the problem.
This really sucks. My Thinkpad is shipping soon hurray! Then I can get rid of this

I have the Iconia W700, and i am experiencing the exact same problem. My wifi will be intermittently disconnected. My driver is 10.0.0.209 . Acer needs to take this SERIOUSLY as this is the only one flaw we are having of otherwise great product. If does not get resolved i will be thinking twice before buying another Acer again!
Additional info: This is also affecting my bluetooth connection. Rendering my bluetoth devices unresponsive for a few minutes. The same devices work perfectly on a dell notebook.

I now have it working again but sadly had to do a refresh of the notebook to a near starting state.
as per my earlier post, none of the other suggestions worked (ie reinstalling the older version .75, etc).
To fix:
1) Swipe right, and tap "settings"
2) tap "change pc settings"
3) tap "General"
4) tap "Refresh your PC without affecting your files
You will LOSE ALL OF YOUR "old school" installed Applications. ONly your "Windows 8" (aka metro) apps will be preserved. Your data (documents) will also be preserved.
After the reinstall, DO NOT LET ACER update your Wifi driver. Its ok to update your BIOS and your INTEL VGA driver.
Then reinstall all of your other apps (like MS Office, etc).
Good luck.
summary: the new ACER wifi / bluetooth combo update is faulty. once installed, you cannot uninstall it in a stable way. when the acer originally shipped, there were two separate products for wifi and bluetooth. once you install the update, there is no way to uninstall both correctly, leaving the new bluetooth parts behind, while downgrading to the .75 wifi driver. The only way to get back to the original shipping drivers are to do a Windows 8 reinstall with the keep your data option. GRRR Acer for putting me through this.

stevencwong, I think you may be right. That's exactly what I did (refreshed my pc without affecting files)...I know that maybe two updates have happened since I refreshed last Thursday, but I don't think my bluetooth or wireless has been updated. Maybe Acer has held back on pushing that update forward since it's faulty? My system's still stable, bluetooth mouse has also been working like a charm.

I would like to say I very much appreciated stevencwong's contribution in Post number 85, describing the problem as he saw it.
I rolled back the driver to .75, I then disabled Bluetooth completely; I have run my S3 all day now without a single drop in connectivity. This is the first time in ages that I have remained connected for an almost 10 hour stretch.
Maybe it's a fluke, who knows, but so far so good. Obviously no good at all if you need Bluetooth, but okay for my use. I was thinking about a mini USB wireless n receiver to then disable the Atheros. Hope now this will not be needed until Acer come up with afix.

I had encountered bluetooth issue, rolled back the Windows system to earlier date, and now gave up bluetooth function for a stable wifi connection which is a must for me. I will stay in this condition until releases of better combo drivers.

The Windows 8 update shown below appeared today. The information link describes (with no detail) that this addresses some driver issues. Does anyone have evidence or further information that this helps with the wifi dropouts? (I'm sticking with x.75 until I hear that either the newer one is working or has been superseded by one that does.)
