I'm starting to get a little annoyed with this. I'm not loosing the connection as often. I'm still loosing it at least once an hour due to heavy use. i still think it's a software issue.

@Cory
You need to take a S7 home with you and test it in a real world situation. This is going to blow up in Acer's face soon...

I've tried the updating of drivers, adjusting the powersettings, resetting the computer etc. However the end result is the same. What a dissapointment! Brand new flagship model and it can't even stay connected.
@Acer: A lot of people would appreciate if you acknowledged there is a problem here and kept us updated on the progress of a solution.

I think it's happening to all models with the Qualcomm Atheros wifi adapter. My M5 does it. I'm reading all over the internet that it's happeining to the S3,S5, and S7 models. Very pathetic. I re-installed windows and I never had a drop in connection until I did the windows update. I wonder if a update somewhere along the line causes this.

Qualcomm needs to be pressured to issue a new driver now! ![]()

Has anybody tried a a different OS? Ubuntu? Win 7?
Wonder if it's only a driver/Win 8 issue?

Could you send me your Serial Number or Case Number in a private message? If it's in the US, I'll have an engineer look take at it while it's here.

I understand what you're saying, but I have had this at home, at a starbucks, all over our office without issue. I've started to run some tests this morning on our open network.
I completely reloaded the machine this morning and the first thing I did was start streaming pandora and youtube. As you can see from the attatchment I'm 2 hours in without issue. I've had the display go off (honestly not 100% if it made it all the way into sleep) and it came out without issues. At this point I'm installing updates provided by the Acer Live Updater (including BIOS 2.09 and the .217 drivers) and I'll let it go for another couple hours this afternoon. Finally I'll try Drockhazen suggested, install the Windows update and let it go for a few more hours.
If anyone wants to take on the same type of tasks, please document how you can reproduce this issue and I'll make sure it gets to the right people.

I am new to this sort of forum, so please allow a naive question: How do we get this issue out of our little and apparently ignorable community and into a technical news item published by a source that perhaps will finally engage Acer's attention?
I cannot imagine why their Customer Support group isn't all over this with at least some soothing words that admit the problem and their intent to solve it, but this thread is at least two weeks old and nothing like that seems forthcoming. A tech reporter might do much better if he or she knew there was a story here.
Any ideas?
