Same problem here even after install the lateset driver 10.0.0.217. It seem the WIFI will auto disconnect even when the S7 is doing noting!
I do a ping 192.168.1.1 -t to my router and will see it will "request time out" after a few minutes, then will reconnect again in 30-60sec time.
By pressing Fn-Q 2 time (turn on airplane mode and turn it off again) will help quickly reconnect.
Also, it seem disable bluetooth will help solve this problem (am testing with this now, guys here please also help test if disable bluetooth help solve this problem).
Feel like it is a driver bug. Disappointed with such kind of price and such kind of quality. S7 look stunning from the outside, but the inside is rather a disappointment. What I hate most is the fan will get busy and noisy even when the notebook is not doing much work.
Update: Just got DC, disable bluetooth will not solve this problem...

Im also having this wifi issue with my 13.3" S7! It will lose the internet connectivity randomly(every 1 to 2 hours).
It happened at my home and my workplace while my other wifi-enabled device still have internet access so I can confimed that the issue lies with the S7.
Another problem I have is the bluetooth problem. The Bluetooth mouse that come bundled with it will lost its connection every few hours, seems like the problem lies with the ultrabook itself and not the bluetooth mouse...
This Ultrabook is nice but its very irritating when you keep losing your internet and wireless mouse connection few times in a day..I may accept it if its a cheap laptop but not so for such an expensive high end ultrabook...
Acer is well know for its reliablity issue..I thought the problem will be gone for its high end line-up but sadly the reliablity issue still persist...
Acer must really look into this and fix this problem soon else they can forget about competing in the high-end ultrabook market..

Same problems here.
Just upgraded to 10.0.0.217 (don't know what the previous version was) which made the problem 10 times worse. It now happens every few minutes. I am practically next to the access point, but I can confirm that the range is one of the worst I have ever seen.
I am also suffering from the bluetooth problem described by others in this thread, so cannot use the mouse that comes with it as it randomly stops working every few hours.
Also seeing duplicate keys problem reported by others, but I mainly use it with an external keyboard so not the end of the world.
Disappointed, I have been a happy Acer user for years, but this thing was seriously expensive.

I see some of you have upgraded to the 10.0.0.217 drivers and are still having an issue. Can anyone try and confirm if the uninstalling the drivers completely before reinstalling produces any different results? Members in the W510 forum seemed to have more success with this approach.
The support article for this issue can be found here: http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2

No - tried about 4 different times - all pretty much ended up with about the same results..
Both 10.0.0.75 AND 10.0.0.217 were problematic.

I have completely uninstalled the Wi-Fi drivers before installing the latest version, however, the problem still exists (or got worse)... there is no clue here. I work now using ethernet... which of course is a disgrace...
Turning in my machine for service is impossible, I use it 16 hours per day... This is very sad..., and a major blow in my confidence to use ACER...

I have uninstalled 10.0.0.217 (the latest) and things are working better again although I am not sure if the problem has completely disappeared. 10.0.0.217 completely dropped network every 5 minutes so I basically could not do my work.
Sending the machine in for 'repairs' is a non starter as I need it for my daily work. I seriously doubt it is a hardware issue.
I rolled back to 10.0.0.75 as follows.
1. Search in Windows for 'Device Manager'.
2. In the Device Manager navigate to 'Network Adapters'.
3. Under 'Network adapters' right-click 'Qualcomm Atheros AR5BMD222 Wireless Adapter' and select 'Uninstall'
4. You will be asked if you wish to completely remove that version of the driver from the system. Select 'Yes'.
5. Reboot the system. It will now default to the 10.0.0.75 driver.

Tried that-
It ended up having different issues - but still Wifi would not survive a lid closure and awaking - sometimes to the point where I'd get stuck on the login and have to reboot.
I wish Acer would step up to the plate and offer us some info - what are you doing - when can we expect some relief? I have been without my machine since last week and I have no idea when/what/etc.
A ultrabook without wifi is a nice paperweight..

I was having the same problems. Not matter what wifi I was on, my Acer S7 Aspire 391-986 would keep losing wifi. It was very annoying. So after messing around with it for ages, here are the steps I did to fix the problem.
#1 right click the little wifi symbol next to your sound icon (bottom right hand corner)
#2 click "open Network Sharing Center"
#3 click change adapter settings (left side column)
#4 right click propeties on Wifi (Atheros device)
#5 click off the box that says "Microsoft LLDP Protocol Driver"
#6 Click okay
It hasn't randomly disconnected since. It seems this device driver was making the wifi signal unstable becuase it kept looking for a connection or somethign through it. Anyway, even if that's not the case it fixed it.. Hope this helps!
