Ultra-Thin

I have recently purchased the Acer V5-552 Ultra thin Laptop and the fan appeared noisy and regular in occurrence (every few minutes) when performing basic tasks in Windows 8, such as listening to music for example. Is this normal? My gut feeling is yes due to the nature of the hardware and overall size of laptop but would appreciate any advice from any one else.

I just figured nothing is perfect, especially not @ $679. not especially nice but hey, what are Ya gonna do. I monitor the interneL temps and bought a cooling Pad stand to blow extra cool air in -
